    Vehicles, equipment and the fuels that power them have changed in recent years. This workshop provides an overview of petroleum fuels, oil demand, and the fuel refining process; history of gasoline and diesel fuels and recent changes; characteristics of biofuels (biodiesel, renewable diesel and ethanol) and compatibility with vehicles and equipment; fuel specifications and quality; identifying and troubleshooting common fuel issues; fuel storage and handling best practices; and Q&A.

  • ADAS 101

    In light of the growing prevalence of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) in vehicles, it's vital to prepare students for repair and calibration tasks. Our presentation will discuss ADAS definition, features, operation using radar, cameras, sensors, and Lidar, calibration methods, and hands-on exercises with a 2022 Toyota Rav4.

  • Teaching EV Safety

    This session will examine a typical EV high voltage system and the interlock loop used to control the HV. It will be a hands on session using Consulab's EV-400 High Voltage safety trainer. The EV-400 runs on 400 Volts, so we will use PPE. Additionally you will use an insulation megaohm meter for diagnostics. A hand out will be provided and the presentation will be power point based.

  • Komatsu HST Dozer Drive System

    This course will focus on the electric over hydraulic control of the HST system. We will cover the system operation and adjustments from beginning to end. The HST involves multiple sensors, EPC's, auto adjustments and easy operator controls.
